Records Management

Enterprise Document and Records Management System

The government of British Columbia has established a common Enterprise Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) infrastructure for effectively managing all government records. This infrastructure builds upon existing ARCS and ORCS standards and processes for managing physical records and incorporates requirements for electronic records (e-records).

The HP TRIM (Total Records and Information Management) software has been designated the standard product for all B.C. Government document and records management software. EDRMS services are delivered to government through Workplace Technology Services of the Ministry of Labour and Citizens' Services with contracted TRIM implementation support provided by EDS Canada.

TRIM implementations are underway in the following ministries/agencies:

  • Ministry of Forests and Range
  • Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Ministry of Labour and Citizens' Services
  • Ministry of Finance
  • Ministry of Education
  • Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development
  • Ministry of Environment
  • Ministry of Agriculture and Lands
  • Elections BC
  • BC Pension Corporation
  • Corporate Records Management Branch, which is part of Information Access Operations, Office of the Chief Information Officer, is responsible for maintaining the TRIM configuration for all B.C. Government implementations.
