This manual contains course materials, presentation
tips, training planning advice and a host of other
resources that will assist you in conducting the
Introduction to the Freedom of Information
and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP Act) course. Introduction
to the FOIPP Act is a half-day course designed
to provide attendees with a basic overview/awareness
of the Information and Privacy legislation, concepts
and requirements. It has been designed for staff
who require an awareness of the Freedom
of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
(the Act), and is not intended for those individuals
who require a more in-depth knowledge of the Act
and who make decisions on the application of the
legislation.
The material in this package
is designed to assist the facilitator in presenting
the legislation, the procedures which accompany
it, and in stressing the value of the Act, both
to government and to the public.
This information is designed
to be applicable to any public body. The materials
shown are listed in the table of contents below.
