The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) maintains cross-government policy and procedures, standards and guidelines regarding access to public information and protection of privacy.
The Knowledge and Information Services Branch of the OCIO provides services, support and leadership to ministries and other public bodies to assist them in complying with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP Act), co-ordinates systems designed to manage and facilitate FOI requests and privacy responsibilities and manages the revision process for the FOIPP Act and its schedules.
