Information Practices


The Information Practices core area provides expertise and advice to establish common and integrated programs involving ministries, broader public sector and other agencies (e.g. federal public bodies, service providers).  Applying policy and legislation, the area provides a full suite of services including identifying information sharing opportunities and preparing accompanying documentation (e.g. privacy impact assessments, information sharing agreement, operational policies).

The unit provides leadership in common and integrated program presentation and liaison with the Information and Privacy Commissioner. The branch also delivers training to employees of newly formed common and integrated programs.  The core area works closely with the Legislation and Strategic Privacy Practices and the Information Management, Policy and Information Sharing areas including informing legislative change and policy development.
